PACIFIC COMMUNICATIONS delivers 4Gbps connectivity using SIAE E-Band systems

December 22, 2016, Dallas, TX. - SIAE MICROELETTRONICA, Inc. a leading supplier and innovator of licensed microwave and millimeter wave backhaul solutions announced today that Pacific Communications (PacComm), a Diamond Certified Value Added Reseller, has integrated multiple ALFOPlus80HD 80 GHz (E-Band) millimeter wave systems for a Fortune 500, Silicon Valley-based enterprise. With business rapidly expanding, new buildings to house additional employees were needed to be quickly brought on-line. As quickly as new facilities were located and refurbished for employee use, service provider WLAN interconnect via fiber was not able to keep pace. The need of a solution to rapidly provide high capacity connection speeds became paramount to bring the new facilities operational as the business required.

Rick Nelson, and his team at Pacific Communications were asked to assess and implement a solution to satisfy those needs. They determined that this campus-type application required an ultra-high capacity backhaul system in the 80 GHz frequency band. PacComm selected SIAE MICROELETTRONICA’s ALFOPlus80HD system. ALFOPlus80HD provides up to 2 Gbps full duplex capacity along with hitless Adaptive Code Modulation and high spectral efficiency. Utilizing integrated Orthogonal Mode Transducers with a high-performance antenna in 2+0 configuration, ALFOPlus80HD yields the 4 Gbps capacity required for the critical traffic transported on the enterprise campus network. Installation of the ALFOPlus80HD systems took only a few days. An added benefit of using the 80 GHz frequency band is the licenses were obtained from the FCC in a day and the system was operational in a fraction of the time it would have taken the service provider to implement fiber on the network. Employees in the new buildings are experiencing the same network backbone performance as if they were plugged into the main building’s local LAN.

“The ALFOPlus80HD solution from SIAE MICROELETTRONICA was straightforward to install and allowed us to quickly and easily implement multi-gigabit network expansion for our customer”, said Rick Nelson, president of Pacific Communications. “This is the value we look forward to offering our customers, fast time to service. Our client has been very pleased with the speed of implementation and the fiber-like throughput and latency of final solution.”

“Leveraging wireless solutions in the 80 GHz spectrum yields the capacity, reliability, security and service velocity enterprises need for critical corporate backbone expansion”,
said Augustino Lucenti, vice-president of sales for SIAE Microelettronica, Inc. “We are very pleased to help Pacific Communications serving from Fortune500s to start-up companies with best in class connectivity and cost champion solutions”.
