Point to point standard licensed frequency band microwave radio in split mount configuration represents 78% of the global market. If we consider the mobile backhaul application, split munt represents the most adopted configuration equal to 86% of the deployed solutions, according to year-end 2019 market reports.
The split mount segment is characterized by three macro groups:
- From 100M to 1Gbps: a declining segment with 3 years CAGR of -14%
- between 1 and 2Gbps: a fast growing segment with 3 years CAGR of +54%
- above 2Gbps: a small segment with 3 years CAGR of +8%

The high capacity segment has been rapidly growing in the past 3 years moving from 360K$ in 2017 to 1,3B$ in 2019. This growth is driven by mobile backhaul high capacity needs. Many operators are investing in enhancing their backhaul network in light of the 5G deployments. By end of 2020 the 1-2Gbps segment will count for over 50% of the market.
To answer to these strong market changes, SIAE MICROELETTRONICA is announcing its standard frequencies universal outdoor unit (ODU) ASNK product line evolution.
The ASNK ODU is today one of the most compact ODU on the market with 2L volume and a benchmarking power consumption of 10W, capable of delivering 1Gbps with 4096QAM over 112MHz single channel.
Today SIAE MICROELETTRONICA is announcing the release of a new ODU variant named ASNK D. This ODU is capable of delivering two 112MHz channels with a total of 2Gbps out of a single ODU maintaining the same 2L volume physical dimensions.
Furthermore SIAE MICROELETTRONICA is also announcing the launch of a further ODU variant named ASNK Q. This ODU is capable of delivering four 112MHz channels that operating at 4096QAM will offer a total capacity of 4Gbps out of a single 4L ODU.
ASNK ODU family is part of the AGS20 split mount solution.
