SHIFT project
SHIFT project will cover innovative semiconductor and packaging technologies and their validation with demonstrators for telecommunication areas such as B5G (Beyond 5G) and 6G wireless network access and backhaul, ultra-high speed optical links for servers, satellite telecommunications, and Earth observation. SHIFT will also contribute to environmental and societal concerns, with an analysis of the life cycle of telecommunications products, through the manufacturing chain, their operational use, and their recycling. Finally, the SHIFT project tends to respond to Europe's desire for sovereignty in semiconductors, by accelerating the development and dissemination of the latest European technologies, allowing many young engineers and researchers to train, and thus enable future ambitious and sustainable development of innovative companies in Europe

IPCEI ME-CT
SIAE MICROELETTRONICA’s project aims at developing ASIC, RF devices and antennas for the setting up of a next generation wireless transport equipment (i.e., the transport layer, usually defined as backhaul, which connects the radio access tier to the infrastructure of the mobile service provider). As a result, the project is expected to support multiple configurations in order to carry the traffic of next 5G and 6G networks, and of an open radio unit (“O-RU”) for open radio access network (“O-RAN”) infrastructure, aimed at the modularisation and standardisation of radio network functions and interoperability between products.
