SIAE MICROELETTRONICA enabled by IPCEI for innovative microelectronics and communication technologies “Made in Europe"

COLOGNO MONZESE, ITALY, JUNE 15, 2023

SIAE MICROELETTRONICA, as direct participant, welcomes the European Commission Decision made on June 8th approving the Important Project of Common European Interest, which addresses the subjects of microelectronics and communication technologies.

The activities will be enabled by a 200 M€ investment in Italy. This will be supported by the Italian authorities (MIMIT) through state aid, aiming to develop a new generation of radio units for the mobile and fixed communications sector.

Based on a large ecosystem, involving more than 10 European small, medium and large enterprises. Plus with the support of research and technology organizations.

SIAE MICROELETTRONICA will improve the European value chain of future proof radio equipment, carrying 100 Gbit/s at sub-THz frequencies. Therefore, enabling 5G and 6G development with secure, efficient and innovative products.
