Tech News:

The most characterizing aspect of a link is the system gain. Increased system gain budget can be spent to increase long hops, to boost capacity over a given link or to decrease antenna sizes in case the new contribution is given by the active product.

The microwave radio split-mount high-capacity market segment is growing, driven by 5G backhaul investments. To boost capacity microwave radio system have been implementing higher modulation schemes at the expense of the link length. A solution offering higher system gain would compensate the use of complex modulation systems without hindering the hop distance.

The use of split mount solution to address long hops application is also growing, in preference to the traditional full indoor solution that according to the latest market research is declining with a CAGR -11% in the past 3 years, dropping below the 200M$ mark. To answer these market changes, SIAE MICROELETTRONICA is announcing its standard frequencies universal outdoor unit (ODU) ASNK product line evolution. The ASNK ODU is today one of the most compact ODU on the market with 2L volume and a benchmarking power consumption of 10W, capable of delivering 1Gbps with 4096QAM over 112MHz single channel.

Today SIAE MICROELETTRONICA is announcing the release of a new frequency bands for ASNK High Power (HP). The ASNK HP offers +3dB more power than the standard ASNK ODU, resulting in a higher system gain.

Furthermore SIAE MICROELETTRONICA is also announcing the launch of new ODU variant named ASNK Ultra High Power (UHP). This ODU is capable of delivering +6dB more power than the traditional ASNK ODU allowing for maximum flexibility among hop length and capacity delivery with high modulation schemes.

ASNK ODU family is part of the AGS20 split mount solution.
